On the 6th September 2016 I was honoured to be invited to St James’s Palace to collect my Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Myself and all the other members of the Air Cadet Organisation receiving their awards were privileged to have our ceremony in the St James Palace Throne Room, which houses the oldest throne in the United Kingdom.

It was an honour to be able to meet His Royal Highness The Earl Of Wessex. We were also lucky enough to have the Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore McCafferty as our guest award presenter. It was an amazing opportunity to be able to chat to HRH The Earl Of Wessex about my gold award.

It was an absolutely amazing day and a once in a lifetime opportunity!

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to those who have supported and assisted me with my award, without their help I could not have completed this award.
