On Sunday 19th February 8 cadets from Castleford Squadron went to Park Lodge shooting ground in Cowick, Goole for a day of Clay Target shooting.
Whilst there the cadets had the opportunity to fire at a variety of different targets, including a target that "rolled along the ground like a rabbit"! Each cadet had 25 rounds, and had a great time honing their shooting skills throughout the busy day.
Cadet Tavonga Goshomi, 16 who goes Brigshaw High School, says: "It was fun and exciting ... I really enjoyed practising my shooting."
Castleford Air Cadets are recruiting now! If you are aged 12+ and fancy doing something new this year, meeting new friends and taking part in a huge amount of activities; from flying an aircraft to shooting a rifle please get in touch.
