Wigan’s Air Cadets Triumph Again.

723 Wigan Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets, based at the Army Reserve Centre in Canal Street, took part in the Cumbria & Lancashire Wing Inter Squadron swimming competition on Sunday 3rd September.
The came away with haul of medals & honours, including, 12 individual gold medals, 3 individual silver medals, as well as 2 gold medals for the relay. They also won outright 3 of the 4 Classes.
These were, Junior Boys, Junior Girls & Senior Girls.
This enabled the Squadron to win the competition overall on the day and for the 3rd year running.
Also on Sunday 3rd September, the Squadron had Cadets taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expeditions, Marshalling Duties at the Wigan 10k Run and taking part in the Royal Air Force Association National Service Remembrance Service at the National Memorial Arboretum.
Officer Commanding, Flight Lieutenant Mike Watson, said “That he was very proud of his Squadron taking part in so many activities on the same day and proving to be the best at it.”
